Forlax® for adults and children 8 years old and above
An osmotic laxative and a trusted option against constipation.
Forlax® 10g is a powder for oral solution. It contains Macrogol 4000 (Polyethylene Glycol / PEG 4000).

How Forlax® works
- Forlax® acts by binding water and retaining it in the intestine, thus increasing stool hydration.12
- This softens the stools and increases their volume.12
- The instestine can move the stools easily again and the bowel movement is facilitated and occure naturally.12

The effect of Forlax® 10g becomes apparent within 24 to 48 hours after its administration.
Forlax® 10g should not be used as self-medication for more than 2 weeks. If symptoms persist, medical advice should be sought.

Pregnancy
Take this medication during pregnancy only after consultation with a doctor. If you discover that you are pregnant during treatment, consult your doctor who will decide on the need to continue treatment.
Breast feeding
There are no data on the excretion of Forlax® in breastmilk. As Macrogol 4000 is not significantly absorbed, Forlax® may be administered during breast feeding.
Like all medicines, Forlax® can have side effects. Possible side effects include:
- Very high dose may cause diarrhea. In this case, you should discontinue the treatment or reduce the dosage. The symptom of diarrhea will disappear within 24 to 48 hours of discontinuing treatment. You may resume the treatment with Forlax® 10g at a lower dose.
- In very rare cases, allergic type reactions such as rash, itching and swelling may happen.
- Other reported side effects are bloating, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and borborgym (growling noise in the tummy).
